December 11th Date Added
Last updated 2 months agoThank you very much for your interest to volunteer for the 2025 Holiday Season of Pilots For Kids in EWR. We will once again be visiting hospitalized children this season, and helping to bring lots of smiles!
***A second date has been added!*** Donations for gifts are still needed and much appreciated.
The second date is at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Paterson, NJ, on December 11th, 10:00 AM. They are allowing up to 5 volunteers. If you would like to attend, please fill out the form below. I would prefer to give everyone a chance to attend an event, so preference will be given first to those who are unable to attend December 2nd.

The first date is at The Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack Meridian on December 2nd, 12:30 PM. The event is currently full. Thank you to those of you who signed up. Due to capacity limitations, you must have received confirmation for attendance. No walk-ins please!
If you are someone who would like to donate funds but can't attend in person, please make a donation at https://www.pilotsforkids.org/dues-donations/donations.php, and select the EWR Chapter. I do not receive real time notifications of donations, usually until well after the season. If you would like to let me know you have donated, please feel free to email me at dave_anfora@yahoo.com. Last updated 2 months agoThank you very much for your interest to volunteer for the 2025 Holiday Season of Pilots For Kids in EWR.
As of this writing (11/1/25), we have one visit set up. I have been trying to secure a second location on a separate date during December, but have been unable to do so after contacting several different facilities. I would very much like to have two visits, if possible. As bidding for December schedules is underway, I realize that it is important that everyone now starts the process of planning.
In the event that I am able to arrange a second visit/location, I will send out an announcement and conduct more sign-ups. Please indicate on the form your intentions. I am going to continue trying through the next week.
Our location will once again be The Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack Meridian on December 2nd, 12:30 PM. Sanzari is allowing up to 20 volunteers. This sign-up will be on a 1st come, 1st serve basis, based on the time-stamp of the response to the form.

Our EWR chapter visited with 5 pilots, 4 from UAL and one from the USAF, and Ana from our UAL EWR CPO. We also had a very special 4-legged friend join us! Many smiles were had by patients, parents, and staff alike.
Hackensack Meridian Joseph Sanzari Children's Hospital 12/2/25
All photo credits to Hackensack Meridian Health. The EWR Chapter of Pilots For Kids had 17 members, 16 from UAL and 1 from AA, make a 2nd annual visit to HMH. We split into 5 groups and made visits for 2 hours around various Pediatric Units at Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center.
