Thank you very much for your interest to volunteer for the 2025 Holiday Season of Pilots For Kids in EWR.

As of this writing (11/1/25), we have one visit set up. I have been trying to secure a second location on a separate date during December, but have been unable to do so after contacting several different facilities. I would very much like to have two visits, if possible. As bidding for December schedules is underway, I realize that it is important that everyone now starts the process of planning.

In the event that I am able to arrange a second visit/location, I will send out an announcement and conduct more sign-ups. Please indicate on the form your intentions. I am going to continue trying through the next week.

Our location will once again be The Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack Meridian on December 2nd, 12:30 PM. Sanzari is allowing up to 20 volunteers. This sign-up will be on a 1st come, 1st serve basis, based on the time-stamp of the response to the form.

An RSVP is required, and due to capacity limitations, you must receive confirmation for attendance. No walk-ins please!

If you are someone who would like to donate funds but can't attend in person, please make a donation at  https://www.pilotsforkids.org/dues-donations/donations.php, and select the EWR Chapter. I do not receive real time notifications of donations, usually until well after the season. If you would like to let me know you have donated, please feel free to email me at dave_anfora@yahoo.com. December 10th, 2024 Hospital Visit/New Coordinator

Greetings,

My name is Dave Anfora. I am an EWR 756 FO. .

This past weekend, I was asked by a fellow United pilot and friend, LAX 787 CA Vasco Rodriguez (who also heads the LAX Chapter), to become the Newark Coordinator for "Pilots For Kids". This position was previously held by EWR 787 CA Brian Heron, who tragically passed away in 2024. I accepted, and the goal was to have an event THIS holiday season in 2024.

I am pleased to announce that we will be visiting the Hackensack Meridian Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital on December 10th, from 1PM-3PM. I realize that this is short notice, and that everyone already has a schedule for December in the airline world. The future will allow for more advanced planning.

There are two enormous ways that you can help. One is by donating, and one is by accompanying me to the Hospital. This is a wonderful time of year to give back, and I can personally attest, having done a Hospital Visit in the past with other pilots, that it is a very rewarding/emotional experience. This is not simply limited to New Jersey area pilots. If you will be around on December 10th, before or after a trip, please consider coming! Even if you can't, your donation would go a very long way. Please know that 100% of the donation will go towards buying gifts for the children IN THE EWR CHAPTER. There are no administrative fees. The Hospital has asked for me to come with gifts for as many as 100 children.

Thank you in advance for your help to make this and future events be a success. Please see the attached flyer for my contact information, as well as how to make a donation and/or accompany me to the Hospital on December 10th. An RSVP is essential, as there are special considerations to discuss prior to the event. An RSVP prior to December 3rd would be most helpful for planning, and a donation ASAP would be greatly appreciated for me to take advantage of "Black Friday" sales that will soon be occurring, to ensure your funds are utilized to the maximum extent possible.
